01How clear aligners work
Clear aligners are custom-made trays that fit snugly over your teeth and apply gentle, continuous pressure to guide them into the correct position. Each set of aligners moves the teeth slightly; you progress through a series of trays over the course of treatment.
They're virtually invisible and fully removable, so you can eat, drink, and clean your teeth normally.
02Previewing your result: digital simulation
Every case is planned with a digital simulation that shows how your teeth will move and what the final result will look like. You'll see the outcome before any aligners are made, and have the opportunity to refine the plan if needed.
This way, you can discuss the planned outcome with Dr. Koerge before deciding to start.
03How long does it take?
Treatment typically takes 6 to 24 months, depending on the complexity of the case. Simpler corrections may be complete in under a year; more involved movements take longer.
Timing also depends on consistent wear: the aligners should be worn most of the day, as instructed by the dentist.
04Aligners before veneers
Clear aligners are often used as preparation before veneer work. Straightening the teeth first helps the final veneers sit in the right position, so that the result is structurally sound.
If orthodontic correction is appropriate, we'll discuss it during the consultation.
05Check-ups during treatment
Regular check-ups with Dr. Koerge are used to confirm that treatment is progressing as planned. How often they take place depends on your case.
If you're visiting from outside Mallorca, check-ups can often be scheduled around your travel.
